Pls see below thanks

prudent recognition of an impairment loss

An alternative. One auditor's proof reader forbids the use of the word "write-down". This is a good alternative. These write-downs of loans here (non "analitico") are collective write-downs and they are "prudent" by definition, so it would probably be best to omit it at least the second time round. Otherwise an accountant reading it will ask the question, "Why does he keep specifying that these collective write-downs are prudent?"

prudential writedown

agree James (Jim) Davis : Without "ial". Better to quote the free dictionary's source, which is for write-down and not prudential.

"The statement followed a similarly conservative write-down for losses on securities linked to the subprime mortgage market collapse by the Barclays Group, which reported a £1.3 billion ($2.7 billion) write-down based on a total exposure of £18.4 billion ($37.7 billion)"

thank you tradugrace
agree James (Jim) Davis : Hi Cristiana. I never know whether to put prudent or conservative. I have the feeling that "prudence" is for Jane Austen and "prudential" is for insurance companies and to be avoided though.
