Italian to English Law/Patents Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)

In this text, there is a discussion between 2 companies regarding the trademark of a product. One is telling the other, that the container they are put on the market is identical to their product and states:
la relativa forma non comporta vantaggi funzionali, ne si tratta di una forma ***imposta dalla natura o comunque diluita sul mercato*** (basta dare un'occhiata al mercato)

I understand the first part "not required by nature" but hte second part is what I am not able to word. Could the phrase "not common on the market" work?
