Can anybody tell me what the unit of measurement "tal" is, as in kWh/tal, nm3/tal?

: It is more than an idea. It is correct,. Aluminium is produced by electrolysis. It uses up a lot of electricity. This is the measure of efficiency; kWh per tonne ol Aluminium produced. See also http://www.talum.si/eng/html/podj_te.html
