Italian term

semirimorchio gommato

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping Road transport
This should be the last of my road transport terms. The phrase talks of semitrailers available for hire: "I semirimorchi sono tutti revisionati, **gommati**, coperti da assicurazione". I have been translating "gommato" as "wheeled", but obviously here it means something a bit more complex! A simple "with tyres" doesn't convince me either. Any ideas?
Proposed translations (English)
4 +2 wheeled semitrailer

My instinct tells me that you're right Gian, but as even the client doesn't know for sure..!!!!!
Gian Mar 21, 2007:
gommato: may be the meaning is "equipped with new tyres"
Sarah Gregg (asker) Mar 21, 2007:
I put my doubts to the client and he's just told me to simply cut the word out because he doesn't know what it means here either!!!! Thanks for your patience and suggestions.

Note from asker:
That sounds great in the context of Gian's quote, but rather strange in my context... "The semitrailers are all serviced, wheeled, insured"? Could they be hired without wheels I ask myself?
