BY looking up coactemalensis in Google, I found a reference to this phrase - the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences was giving an address in 2003 - it seems to be the motto of the University - see
http://www.usac.edu.gt/facultades/medicina/plus1_set.htm
He says
The shield consists of (a picture in the centre) of two concentric circles, in between which it says "Carolina Academy Coactemalensis Inter Caeteras Orbis Conspicua" - and he says the translation of this would be "University of Great Guatemala Between those of the World" - which seems peculiar to say the least.... but perhaps this will help you get on the right tracks?!?
I think Caeteras may be to do with Cattedra, the University Chair/Professorship
Another article also seems to be explaining the same motto

again it is in Spanish ....
Hope this helps!
