Norwegian term

reservasjon (see context)

Norwegian to English Bus/Financial Transport / Transportation / Shipping
This is in reference to people requesting not to receive junk mail and the like. Here are some examples of context:

- Reservasjonsmerkelapper – “Nei takk til reklame”
- "Videre benyttes antall reklamereservasjoner som grunnlag når vi skal selge distribusjon av uadressert reklame."
- Reservasjonsmerking
- "Dette gjelder både reservasjon mot reklame og/eller gratisaviser."

I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

All the best,

Richard

opt-out

This is a tricky one. I visited a British webiste called stop junk mail and found some info there. It says:

"The trick to stopping unaddressed junk mail is that there are two things you need to do; signing up to the Door-to-Door Opt-Out will stop unaddressed mail items pushed through the door by the postman while an anti-junk mail sticker will stop leaflets from local businesses. "

I've attached a link to the website below.

Could you use something like unsolicited mail opt-out stickers?
Example sentence:

To help you eridicate leaflets you'll get an opt-out card to register with Royal Mail's opt-out scheme for leaflets with your order, for free.

agree Ian Giles : I've had this come up in my work (to do with avoiding advertising by SMS in Norway) - definitely opt out

Another option could be "Mailing Preference" From the Mailing Preference Service

Note from asker:
Thanks! "Mailing preference service" is something I could work with here, I think.
