: I am afraid it does ;) | I love your theory, but this is an idiomatic expression, which I've heard in context quite a few times and it does mean "ugly".

No. it doesn't. It just refers to the shape of someone's mouth when being angry.

wry face
Alternatively, you could experiment with 'mug', 'satchel', 'bazoo' etc. 'Puke-hole' would probably be too vulgar, though, while 'cake hole' ('pie hole') too light in the context.
If wanted it really literally, you could go for 'constantly wincing pie hole', but IMHO that kind of long, descriptive phrase wouldn't work here. It doesn't convey the colour of the Polish source.

You can also go for a more modern, slangish equivalent of 'odious face', which accurately reflects both the implied expression of the addressee's face and the speaker's feelings towards it (thus odious in both senses).

jezeli zapytasz kogos co to jest dokladnie "fucked up face" to prawdopodobnie tez dostaniesz przynajmniej siedem odpowiedzi, IMO to jest dokladnie najblizszy odpowiednik - twarz powykrzywiana, nieprzyjemna do granic mozliwosci

zastanawialam sie nad
"crooked face"/ "crooked mug"
przegladnelam inernet - jest nawet kilka wystapien, choc chyba chodzi tam o wykrzywione twarze (doslownie), a tu IMO krzywy to brzydki (ale subiektywnie brzydki - dla osoby mowiacej)
wiec proponuje slowko "hideous" (IMO nawet lepsze niz disgusting) elegancko negatywnie naladowane, ale bez jakiegos bardzo konkretnego znaczenia (bo to ani zly, ani brzydki, ani znieksztalcony)
f* hideous face

Discussion
bo najczęściej mówimy "wstrętna gęba", a nie - "krzywa gęba";
"krzywa gęba" jest tak bardzo wulgarnym, małym i tandetnym przekazem (nie boję się też powiedzieć - zwyrodniałym);
"wstrętna gęba" jest dosadnym określeniem, ale nie tak podłym...
A, Bolko by Matejko ma wąsy i zupełnie nieźle wygląda... co Panie o tym sądzą ? :)
I disagree with 'angry face', but I agree with the general sense of: 'sour, unhappy face, constantly complaining.'
The goal here is to convey that the addressee's face habitually sports a base expression and is also extremely unpleasant for the speaker to look at.
You *could* use 'krzywa gęba' to describe a face that's simply ugly in a static sense (the opposite of handsome), but the expression implies a certain dynamic connected with facial expression.
