This is part of a short letter from an employee reporting an accident that occurred on the job.
I found Código de Processo de Trabalho (CPT) > Labour Proceedings Code (LPC) ( http://www.proz.com/?sp=gloss/term&id=8056424), but it doesn't seem to fit the context.

When someone has an accident at the workplace and he/she has to stay at home for more than one day, we speak of a 'Days away from work case' (DAFW)
These safety statistics apply to both BP staff and staff members of contracting companies, the so-called contractors.

How do I record a work-related injury or illness that results in days away from work?
When an injury or illness involves one or more days away from work, you must record the injury or illness using the UW Occupational Injury & Illness Report. Click "Yes"; enter the days away as a numerical entry of the number of calendar days away from work in the "Days away from work box. If the Employee is out for an extended period of time, you must enter an estimate of the days that the Employee will be away, and update the day count when the actual number of days is known. Updating will be done through the OIIR Tickler system. If more updating is needed, please call Occupational Health & Safety at 543-7388

The Miller Brewing Company comment (Ex. 15: 442) was representative: "We endorse this cap on the days away from work (DAFW) calculation. Once a case reaches 180 days, it is clearly recognized as a serious case. The requirement to calculate days away from work beyond 180 is a time consuming administrative exercise which provides no value-added information relative to the severity of a given case. Again, we support this rule change and OSHA's attempt to simplify the recordkeeping process."

BLS reported that in 2007 there were 335,390 MSD cases that
involved days away from work (DAFW). While we do not currently know how many non-days-away-from-work (non-DAFW) cases are MSDs, in 2007 BLS estimated there were 4,002,700 total workplace injuries and illnesses, of which 1,158,870 were days-away-from-work cases. If it is assumed that the pattern of DAFW MSDs and non-DAFW MSDs mirrors that of DAFW and non-DAFW injuries and illnesses as a whole, it would suggest the total number of MSDs would be approximately 3.45 times (4.0 divided by 1.159) the number of DAFW MSDs reported in 2007. The number of non-DAFW MSDs implied by this calculation would be 2.45 (3.45-1) times greater than the DAFW MSDs reported in 2007.
