A refração sobre os bancos de areia da plataforma interna e a convergência de ortogonais sugere a possibilidade de que seja uma causa para a erosão na litoral Norte do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Atafona) (GUERRA, 1994).
Observa-se que uma ortogonal sobre a isóbata de 20 m encurva-se de 45º, ao largo do Cabo de São Tomé.

My answers are listed in order of preference.
According to Webster's unabridged dictionary there is no such noun as "orthogon." The adjective "orthogonal" means "1. lying or intersecting at right angles; 2. mutually perpendicular." You would need to add a word like grid, matrix, etc. in English. Frankly, I think it means the same thing as right angle.
