Discussion

Enza Longo Jan 31, 2009:
In that case, your interpretation would seem correct to me - in search of employement
T o b i a s (asker) Jan 31, 2009:
The discussion is about Internet access. According to the article, some people access the Internet at work, some at home, and some people use the Internet at retail Internet access businesses (pay By the hour). these last establishments are referred to as "acesso público", where people sit at little private booths.
Enza Longo Jan 31, 2009:
Can you please provide more context? What kind of business is providing this access (I'm presuming it's internet access).

neutral kashew : Boa tarde! Yes, I don't see how qualificação can mean employment (seeking is better than on a quest IMHO )

agree Donna Sandin : probably this is the safest choice - don't think the word can be stretched to "employment"

Thanks, Donna...enjoy your weekend!
agree Enza Longo : on second thought, this might be the way to go because as Donna said, 'employment' might be a bit of a stretch
