Selected

colours that evoke the soul of the place or guesthourse

but i would consider a rewrite

the idea of a guesthouse having a soul is too much in English

..colours that enhance the feeling given off by the guesthouse

epitomize

a bit formal, but the original isn't exactly colloquial either... ("colours that epitomize...etc")
Peer comment(s):

neutral Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : what do you mean "not colloquial"? It is perfectly Normal Portuguese writing..

bring out the very soul of the place

The expression "very soul" is better than just "soul" here.
