agree Enrique Espinosa : I think so, too. Maybe only flows as they do not point out is a volcanic flow (which is not compatible in a cavern)

Comment: "My apologies to all who answered as I've found the term in a cave glossary http://www.speleogenesis.info/glossary/glossary_by_letter.php?Authors=f The full term is "colada estalagmítica", the English term is "flowstone" and the definition is "Deposits of calcium carbonate, gypsum, and other mineral matter which have accumulated on the walls or floors of caves at places where water trickles or flows over the rock." Under the circumstances I've awarded the points on the basis of "first to answer" but would like to thank all who answered for your help as I wouldn't have found the term without your input. It's already in the Kudoz glossary the other way around (English>Spanish)."

With your explanation, and after consulting Routledge's Spanish Technical Dictionary, "run off" seems to fit the bill apparently.
