Hola,

Es un video de España de formación sobre la seguridad de datos personales en lo cual dos personajes de la misma empresa hablan de el protócolo a seguir tras una brecha de seguridad. Persona 1 ha perdido unos datos y debe notificar la buena persona de la brecha. Lo que no entiendo es que en lugar de notificar la buena persona sobre la brecha de seguridad, persona 1 envía un correo electrónico y declara:
"Listo. Lo he comunicado ***al mar***."

Persona 2: - No crees que hay que seguir el protócolo de brecha de seguridad por estos casos?
Persona 1: - Bueno, ei, ei, tranquilidad. He perdido documentos con informaciones sensibles sobre la empresa.
Persona 1: (tecleando sobre un ordenador) - Listo. Lo he comunicado ***al mar***.
Persona 2: - No tengo claro que una brecha de seguridad tenga que pasar por esa vía.
Persona 1: - Uy! Pues ahora que lo dices, igual debería leerme el protócolo de brechas de seguridad sobre la protección de datos.
Persona 2: - Igual sí.

Lo único que se me ocurre es que "el mar" es una manera de decir "todo el mundo en la empresa"?

No Phil, as soon as you mentioned the word "acronym", “Mesa de Ayuda" popped into my head for the M and A. I had been reading it as "sea" up to that point.

Aunque en sentido estricto debería decirse "la MAR", en referencia a "la Mesa de Ayuda de x", no sería tan extraña (ni errónea en esencia) su masculinización, en alusión al grupo o al comité que conforma dicha mesa (en este caso "el MAR"; comunicarle algo "al MAR" versus "a la MAR").

I guess whoever did the script didn't understand it was an acronym either, so took it literally as the masculine word "mar" (sea)... Glad you got to the bottom of it!

That’s it! Ayayay, acronyms.... Thank you both. Yes, the acronym idea is the right one. The MAR is definitely a “Mesa de Ayuda de X company”, like in the link James has provided. Although the script uses “al” instead of “la” for “Mesa de Ayuda”.

If 'MAR' is an acronym for 'mesa de ayuda' then it means that the person passed the information on to the staff at the help desk.
