Hola! estoy trabajando en un proyecto sobre la traducción de las cédulas en los museos. Las cédulas son las pequeñas tarjetas que acompañan cada exposición con una explicación de su contenido. Quisiera saber cual es el termino exacto en inglés.

Are they referring to the information affixed to each work of art or something that describes the entire exhibition?

agree Charles Davis : Yes, I think so, especially in American English (which is probably required here). A label gives title, artist's name and date, but a card has further information.

These refer to the small labels at the side of each painting or exhibit. The large information panels giving broader information about the whole room are called 'panels'.
