Spanish term
Plaza (unidad de medida)

Hello everyone.
Even though I am not translating a technical document, the term is indeed very specific.
The original sentence in Spanish is:
"...hizo realidad la construcción de XXX en dos plazas de terreno - hoy parte de otro edificio."
My try:
"...made the construction of XXX a reality in two ___ land lots - now part of another bulding."
I can´t find an exact translation for this metric unit, which is very old, by the way.
Urgent help and input is much appreciated.
Thanks everyone!

I can only find a handful of references to this - hence the 3.
"Una plaza... es una unidad de área muy utilizada en las zonas campesinas, sobre todo en el Cauca, y equivale a un cuadrado de 80m * 80 m es decir 6400 m cuadrados."

We wouldn't say "made the construction of XXX a reality". It's just "built XXX".

Note from asker:
Thank you philgoddard! So this actually means there is no name for a 'plaza' in English, right? Just the equivalent square meters. |
