A court martial (or courts martial) in US English is a trial by the military or their own personnel. For example, US Army of US Army personnel accused of wrong-doing. The courts-martial of those involved in the Abu Ghraib prison torture scandal would be an example.
Military tribunal is a trial of members of the OPPOSING forces outside the scope of conventional criminal law (Nuremberg, for example).
