This is from a weapons guide to be used in the English-speaking Caribbean. The "corredera" is a part of the gun essential for its operation, and a suggested location for placing identification markings on the gun. Does anyone know this term in English?

2.- Corredera (Slide)
Es la pieza móvil situada encima de la armadura o armazón (Frame), a la que está sujeta por medio de unos canales o rieles que le permiten un desplazamiento longitudinal. En el hueco anterior se aloja el cañón, y en la parte delantera tiene dos orificios: uno para la salida del cañón cuando el tirador monta el arma, y otro para la guía del muelle recuperador.
