Spanish to English Law/Patents Petroleum Eng/Sci Contract regarding compensation for "Eventos Extraordinarios" leading to lost production

This part of the contract deals with compensation for lost production due to "Extraordinary Events", including power cuts etc.

The part I'm unsure about is "Afectación de la evacuación de la Produccíon de Petréleo Crudo"

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
David

Discussion

David Howard (asker) Jan 30, 2012:

Is it simply that it impedes Crude Oil extraction?

Affects of evacuating / (temporary shutdown of) the Crude Oil Production Plant

I think they are referring to the loss of production if there is a power cut, e.g. stopped production, loss of man-hours (due to evacuation??, etc.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks Neil, I agree that it refers to a shutdown of the plant. 'Evacuation' maybe slightly misleading in English (if taken literally) so I'm going to leave it at temporary shutdown. Thanks, David "

Generating exhaust/waste gasses from crude oil production

Evacuar in technical contexts often refers to exhaust, waste products, etc. This is my best educated guess.
