En el sector de buques unitarizados, se sumaron en 2000 7,5 millones de TPM de portacontenedores, situándose esa flota en 83,6 millones de TPM. Al igual que en años anteriores el mayor tráfico de los buques de línea regular ha sido capaz de absorber esos tonelajes con el resultado del pleno empleo de la flota mundial unitarizada.

In the unitized fleet sector, 7.5 million dwt of containerships were added in 2000
with this fleet reaching 83.6 million dwt. As in previous years, expanding trades for liner shipping have been able to absorb these tonnages, thus resulting in full employment of the world unitized fleet.
