trackability
I think in this transport context. "trackability" is more likely. See ref for an example. A very strong reason for that is that Fedex (and many other transport oompanies) use the word "track", not "trace" (see 2nd ref).
I agree entirely that in a software context, "traceability" is the right word.

To expand that a bit: I think the software engineers developing the system would talk about tracing, and putting in \"software traces\" in order to see what the program is doing (or where it is going wrong).
But the purpose of the IBS program is to track the progress of goods at customer and dispatch level, and hence \"track\" is the right word here - you track goods in transit, you do not trace them.

I work with this often in software development process improvement.
"Traceability" is what we use.

I agree on one level, Peter (though as a package sender I would speak of \"tracing\" my package and not \"tracking\" it. I would trace to find something that hadn\'t arrived on time, and I would track to see, for example, how long it took) - but we\'re talking about the system\'s capabilities.
