Bio
I am Gladys de Contreras, born on 1965
I was born in Venezuela. As a child and through my teen years I lived in Lawrence and Leavenworth, Kansas, U.S.A.
I studied part of my elementary schooling as well as my whole junior high and high school there. Then I moved back to Venezuela where I enrolled in the Catholic University, and graduated as a lawyer: Then I did three post graduate programs; the first one was Enterprise Management, the second Adult’s Education and the third one Public Management. Lately I have acquired by Public Interpreter diploma.
My career; before earning my diplomas I worked for five years in my family’s pharmacy. After I earned my diplomas I became a University Professor and taught for many years, until retirement almost three years ago. I taught at my Alma Mater and was proud to make it into a very competitive world.
Since then, loving languages as I do and feeling young and energetic, I decided to become a translator and take on multiple tasks and prepare myself studying linguistics and public management. I think that when you love something as much as I do interpreting and translating, everything turns out for the best.
At the moment I am working for various companies; Babble Type, Verbalize It, Multilingual, Smartlation, Eurasia Translating Stars, and Christian Translations. I am available to work all year round and 24/7. The areas I have specialized on are legal, educational, business and religion.
It is a privilege to have a job I love and do it from home which gives me the time to share with my husband and our two teenage boys, and it gives me time to travel and get to know people from different paths of life and ages.
