para as necessidades da minha família, decidi procurar ofertas de emprego que me oferecessem melhores condições. Numa pesquisa online, encontrei uma agência de recrutamento que anunciava propostas de emprego numa grande obra em Portugal. Ofereceram-me um contrato de trabalho por 6 meses, um salário elevado, alimentação e alojamento incluídos. Quando cheguei a Portugal, entreguei os meus documentos, pois disseram que iam tratar do meu visto e contrato de trabalho. Eu e mais 7 homens, de diferentes nacionalidades, fomos alojados num contentor... pensei que fosse temporário...
Trabalho cerca de 16 horas por dia, sem dias de descanso, a comida é pouca e de fraca qualidade, não tenho acesso a uma casa banho e durmo num colchão velho.
Quero voltar para junto da minha família, mas não tenho os meus documentos e tenho vergonha de regressar a casa sem nada.

| Empreendimentos turísticos na faixa litoral
Exmos. Senhores,
A Câmara Municipal de Grândola emitiu no passado dia 17 de maio de 2023 um esclarecimento sobre os empreendimentos turísticos na faixa litoral, revendo o historial de planeamento do território desde os anos 50 e avançando uma série de escusas e louvores para a sua actuação perante a actual situação.
A Associação Dunas Livres conhece os factos deste histórico, sabendo que no passado não existiam os mesmos critérios e conhecimentos científicos, técnicos e governativos de que se dispõe, felizmente, nos dias de hoje. Concordando com este pesado legado, transversal a todo o país, não se aceita que o actual executivo da Câmara de Grândola preste um esclarecimento à população que se baseia apenas numa enumeração de erros do passado, enquanto continua a perpetrar esses mesmos erros, assim como outros no presente.
Gostaríamos, nesse sentido, de ver esclarecidas algumas questões que se levantam:
1. O actual executivo não deixa de ser responsável pela ultrapassagem do número máximo de camas turísticas segundo o PDM, que seria 14.915 mas já conta mais de 30.000, sem contar com os pedidos de informação prévia aprovados em excesso. Sabe-se ainda que a maioria das camas turísticas acabam concentradas nos grandes projectos em detrimento de uma distribuição mais equilibrada para o território e a economia local.
Como fica então o número final de camas turísticas no concelho, assim como camas em segunda habitação, e qual a sua distribuição exacta?
Quais são afinal os “limites que não devem ser ultrapassados, de forma a não comprometer a sustentabilidade do território”?
2. Como se pretende assegurar a preservação dos recursos hídricos sem uma revisão da sustentabilidade ao nível da exploração do aquífero e correcção do consumo para fins terciários primeiro, antes de se acenar a bandeira da dessalinização?
Recusamos o argumento de que “todos os projetos em causa têm previsto a reutilização das águas residuais tratadas para uso na rega dos espaços verdes”, uma vez que nenhum dos projectos apresenta estudos sobre a viabilidade ou suficiência das águas tratadas reutilizadas para o consumo em irrigação. Simultaneamente, tal não sucede de qualquer modo, estando neste momento a ser gasta água proveniente de furos na irrigação de novos campos de golfe – numa realidade de seca profunda iminente, ameaçando a sustentabilidade do território.

Dear Sirs,
On May 17, 2023, the Municipality of Grândola issued a clarification on tourist developments on the coastal strip, reviewing the history of territorial planning since the 1950s and putting forward a series of excuses and praises regarding its response to the current situation.
The Dunas Livres Association knows the facts of this history, knowing that in the past there weren't the same scientific, technical and governmental criteria and knowledge that are fortunately available today. Agreeing with this heavy legacy, which cuts across the whole country, it is unacceptable that the current executive of the Municipality of Grândola clarifies the population based only on a list of past mistakes while continuing to perpetrate those same mistakes, as well as making new ones.
In this regard, we would like to clarify some of the questions that have arisen:
1. The current executive is also responsible for exceeding the maximum number of tourist beds according to the PDM, which would be 14,915 but has already exceeded 30,000, not counting the requests for prior information that have been approved in excess. It is also known that most tourist beds are concentrated in large projects, to the detriment of a more balanced distribution for the territory and the local economy.
So what is the final number of tourist beds in the municipality, as well as beds in second homes, and what is their exact distribution?
What are the "limits that must not be exceeded, so as not to compromise the sustainability of the territory"?
2. How can we ensure the preservation of water resources without first reviewing the sustainability of aquifer exploration and correcting the consumption for tertiary purposes, before waving the desalination flag?
We reject the argument that "all the projects in question plan to reuse treated wastewater to irrigate green spaces" since none of the projects provide studies on the feasibility or sufficiency of the reused treated water for irrigation. At the same time, this is not happening at all, and water from boreholes is currently being used to irrigate new golf courses - in a reality of imminent deep drought, threatening the sustainability of the territory.
