French to English: European biogas projects Detailed field: Environment & Ecology
Translation - English Injection of biogas ...
Following in the footsteps of other European countries, France is planning to inject biomethane into its natural gas network!
The city of Lille is preparing to obtain official authorisation, which will allow optimal use of biogas and greater flexibility in its production.
The injection of biomethane fuel in the natural gas distribution network will mean the removal of one of the current obstacles to the development of biogas. In fact, the difficulty today is to reconcile continuous production of biogas with potentially fluctuating consumption (for example when bus fuel tanks are used). By injecting biomethane into the natural gas network, this difficulty is removed. The network will then function as local temporary storage and will direct the biomethane towards other local uses.
The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden have already supported the development of biogas production by authorising its injection into their natural gas networks.
Since 2003, a European directive (2003/55/CE of 26.06.03) has authorised the injection of other gases into the natural gas network.
In the area of renewable energy and reduction of greenhouse gases, some European countries give special status to natural gas and biogas. In Germany, in December 2006, the first biogas installations fed into the national gas network, which opened up the prospects of the field. Until 2030, Germany predicts enough potential available biogas to supply the network with 100 billion KWh per year (1).
Amongst the Biogasmax project partners, Berne (Switzerland) and Stockholm and Gothenburg (Sweden) have also decided on the injection of biogas into their natural gas network.
In Gothenburg, since 1999, Götebord Energi has been injecting a non-purified biogas into the urban network, which already took gas known as town gas. In 2006 it decided to inject purified biogas into the local natural gas network. Since 2006 Berne has also connected its system of purifying biogas to the natural gas network. Improvement in the technologies used means that today the quality and reliability of the system can be guaranteed. In France, legislation is in line with the European directives relating to liberalisation of energy. Transporters and distributors have drawn up and published technical specifications guaranteeing quality of use and integrity of transport infrastructures and gas distribution.
German to English: Customer feedback questionnaire - automotive Detailed field: Automotive / Cars & Trucks
Bin sehr zufrieden.
Translation - English Re: operating instructions, I would only want particularly for the relevant vehicle model. Too much general stuff, which is irritating, e.g. without specialist help it is not possible to input date and time. This can't be gleaned from my instructions. Apart from that, regarding the carpet interior lining, it's about the black carpet that keeps hold of every small piece of fluff.
Fixtures and fittings and the colour of the whole model. Interior features, ease of vehicle's steering and gear change. Comfortable getting in and out. Overall opinion: this model can't get any better. Am very satisfied.

I have been translating from French and German to English for fifteen years. With a background in export marketing in the chemical industry, I have an understanding of import/export documentation and procedures. I have also worked in education and corporate language training. After four years of German training at BMW, and the same in French at Citroen, I have knowledge of a wide variety of car parts, fixtures and fittings, and I have specialised in translating car manufacturers' brochures and customer feedback verbatim. I have also translated in the fields of Biowaste and corporate artwork.
I currently combine translation with language training. This enables me to meet a wide range of professionals in many different areas of business and to have contact with the language they use.
