Yes, if for the U.S. or Canada, I would use district. Other countries I'm not too sure, but I suspect it would be understood in Britain and other English speaking countries.

| For me my district would be Ponta Delgada i think. cause i was bron in azores (portugal) so i was born freguesia de Sao jose, ponta delgada ilha de sao miguel acores. |
