Hi everybody,
I merged a bunch of TTX files to translate them in Studio 2009, and it has gone smoothly so far. But now the job is done, and I need to finalize the files and "Generate Target Translations". But this process is failing! This is what I'm getting:
"Failed to write output file ": (35077): Unknown color: Orange.
I've tried several times, though, and most of the time I get this: "There's an error in the XML document (25684, 69).

What on earth is wrong here? Deadline is tomorrow and I have nothing to deliver, so I'm desperate for help!

Well, if your "bunch" isn't too big, I would pre-translate the ttx files individually (using your TM) and find out which file is giving this problem, or if it is just a problem that happened when merging the files together.
If you find a problem file, then I would open it in the Editor window (without pre-translating it) and then try to save the target file before you translate it. That way you will know whether the orginal file is the problem or whether it is related to your transl... Thanks for your reply. My bunch is around 150 files, and that's of course one reason why I chose to merge them - a feature I expected to save me work and time.
If there's no other solution, I'll have to create a new project and use the TM like you said and save all the 150 files individually, but I do have some cases of different translations for identical sources, so that's going to be a bit of a head-ache to track down and fix.

So it looks like I'm up the creek with no paddle and no canoe either for that matter. I cannot export any file at all, and I cannot export the TM to use it with Trados 2007 (the TMX export is not accepted by Workbench).

I've done some tests discovered a few things...
The first thing I did before starting the project was to open the TTX files in TagEditor and save them again. This is needed to prevent the "This file contains more than one source and/or target language" error when opening the translated and exported files in TagEditor again after translating them in Studio 2009.
Now I've tried to open the fresh, original TTX files in Studio, and this enables me to save the TTX fil... See more I've done some tests discovered a few things...

Export your TM to tmx. Open the TM in Notepad, and change all "nb-NO" into "NO-NO". Import to Trados 2007, WB. Then it should be possible to translate the 150 ttx files.
To track down TUs with identical source/target will be difficult of course.

Thank you, Ivan, I might end up doing that if my current line of investigation fails.
I've discovered where the "orange" comes from: The INI file. Apparently Studio 2009 cannot handle the color orange that the INI file references, and thus has decided to destroy my work.
