That might come in very handy. The method using WFC is quite clumsy and time consuming. Thank you for sharing, Dominique.
But the question remains when will version 3 be released. I saw posts from January stating that it will be released very soon.

Unfortunately, I'm not the one who makes the decision... The current RC (release candidate) looks as functional to me as 2.4.4.

Why can't they just incorporate a button that does all this - or am I just being naive?
It would be great if there could be something that is built into Word that could just do all this. I have been using Wordfast for about 5 years and I am a bit of a technophobe, so all this messing around sends my brain into a spin I would have thought that such a function would be a basic requirement.

Converting a translated TXML into a bilingual ("unclean") Word document should be a trivial task for a programmer. In memoQ, all you have to do is select: Export bilingual > Trados-compatible bilingual DOC. Likewise, you can export to XLIFF (standard format nowadays for exchanging bilingual documents) by doing: Export bilingual > XLIFF. Wordfast Pro cannot do that either. Déjà Vu can do both, but you need the Workgroup edition, which costs several thousands euros (why are these functions not part of the Professional version is beyond me).
Bottom line: I'm not a programmer and I'm not the one in charge of Wordfast Pro's development, so all I do is try to think of workarounds to circumvent its shortcomings.

So I thought I would give it a shot as I have a client who wants this.
It was all going swimmingly following the youtube video until it got to the bit about the 'free utility available in the Files section of the Wordfast Classic group on Yahoo.'
There is a login page for Yahoo and it invites you to log in using facebook and google - each time I tried either of them it just keeps going back to a login page.
No sign of any wordfast classic group ... See more So I thought I would give it a shot as I have a client who wants this.

Whatever, I go back to my previous point above. Surely it is not beyond the WF programmers to put together some sort of macro/whatever they do whereby you click a button that is labelled something like 'create unclean file' - a nice big button with marching red ants if you like, but one that works!

The bilingual review will certainly be very useful for many people. Here are a couple of reasons for using it:
1) for your own use: you will be able to run a grammar check in Word (if supported in your target language), something you can't do in Wordfast Pro.
2) if someone else is reviewing your translations: that person won't have to be using Wordfast Pro (many reviewers are not translators, and even if they are, they do not necessarily use Wordfast). He/she can do the reviewing in Word, using Word's track changes function. He/she will be able to see your comments (notes in Wordfast Pro), if any, and add his/her own, if needed.
