... but I can't say I'm surprised...
Huge, HUGE loss for Proz, and for all the translation community.
I'd say Nolite te bastardes carborundorum, but things obviously reached the point of no return ...

Gracias por lo mucho que hiciste y harás. Y no te extrañaré, gracias a Dios, porque sigo disfrutando de tu vehemencia y voluntad.
¡¡¡Abrazo enorme!!!!!

To think that just a couple of days ago you and I enjoyed a light-hearted exchange regarding a book on writing poetry--I had no idea that might be my last "conversation" with you.

I would write a poem for you but I haven't gotten far enough in Stephen Fry's book yet.
I'll miss you, Au.

When I came across Proz.com five years ago, I was truly impressed by the very first person I met there and that person was you Au. You Au always so creative, always looking for better ways for people to become aware of Proz.com. You have had an unequal ability to summon people to Proz's gatherings. Something unforgettable.

What a -big- shame...
Your posts are (were?) part of the best ones on ProZ.
I am so happy we can still find you in other interesting places. Keep up the good work, because we all need people like you, who say what they think for all translators' dignity's sake.
Good luck and good life to you.

Bye..
Edit: I think you were right to say what you send and the fact that your 2 liner without name and without link was squashed a second time and you asked to leave proz because you asked for the logic of some rules shows clearly a trend of Proz in the last 2 year of repressing everything they are not comfortable about before too many readers can see it. I have see so many posts of members (where the content not being checked) being squahed within 10 min of being online and disappearing as if they had never been written (which is pretty much disrespectful) that I can't think of the things that never go through when they had to be accepted by an moderator.
If I see it once more, I will remove my profile too. Probably not with being asked to (or even if, I have nobody to say goobye for me).
Aurora, when my profile get removed, people will probably hardly notice it but you will be in my thought.
You will be in my thought for having tried to say an uncomfortable truth where so many of us have already given up on asking "why?".

So all dissenting voices are to be suppressed in the name of a fistful of potential dollars. It’s a shame that something that started as being such an altruistic and beautiful thing has to also be converted to such a dirty exercise.
Good on you Leticia for publishing Au’s letter. I have not always agreed with Au nor have I always believed she is on the right track but I do want to hear what she says! Au, I feel that you leaving the site is a great loss for everybody... nobody wants to be on a partial place, everybody needs to hear both sides of the story, just as Marijke said, it is good for everybody to read what you have to say.
I don't know how it is going to be here without you, you are the heart of this site, you worked hard to make proz what it is, and just for the love for our proffesion, and pure passion.

I know we will be seeing you around and reading you somewhere else, but I am afraid of what may happen now, you were one of the few strong voices and now you've been forced to leave, leaving the future translators without your insights on our proffession that had helped so many of us.
I know you'll keep helping translators realize they are not factories of words, but professionals, and that they should be respected as such. I know I will help you on your quest.

Once upon a time, when I was a poor graduate student and had no money to decorate my house, I put on the wall a piece of burlap with some clippings, some thougths, as the ones you send to some of us via private email. Well, my friend, you have said your truth. Yet, you have not been silenced. We'll hear from you in other places.
