My proudest achievement to date is having been awarded the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Palmes Académqiues (Knight of the Order of the Academic Palms) by the French Ambassador to Zimbabwe on behalf of the French Government in March 2023, in recognition of my contributions to the French Culture and the French community in Zimbabwe for over 30 years.

Although a 100% native English speaker, my entire working career has been spent in a francophone environment, starting with 10 years as a full-time bilingual administrator/translator for the Cultural and Technical Service of the Embassy of France in Harare, and then part-time as a financial administrator at the French School for the past 18 years up to June 2023, where I also undertook translation work whenever the need arise (documentation, presentations, reports, etc).

For a number of years I undertook all the translation work for the projects run by the French scientific research organisation CIRAD's office in Harare (including international conference documentation and a study commissioned by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and since January 2013 I have been solely responsible for the French-English translation service offered by the Alliance Française of Harare (as well as the English-French translations since January 2017).

I hold the WLS Professional Certificate in Translation, and the SDL and TAUS post-editing certifications.   I regularly enroll in MOOC's and other online courses related to environmental and medical issues, in order to increase my knowledge and experience in this field.

I have experience in various subjects fields (animal husbandry, education, environment, finance, legal contracts, mining, museums, etc), and through my work at the Alliance Française I have gained extensive experience in the translation of civil status records and educational certificates of both French and Francophone origin, often working under very short time frames.

My work ethic is to provide translations of the highest standard possible, essentially in terms of accuracy and fluency, but also in terms of visual presentation, in the shortest feasible time possible and always within the agreed time-frame.

I am also interested in the teaching of French as a Foreign language and spend most of my free time doing sewing, knitting, crocheting and soft toy making, giving me extensive experience in these fields as well.

I look forward to using my experience to assist international clients with all their communication and translation needs.
