Source text - English The WestfaliaSurge Vacuum On Demand will monitor the pump temperature when the PT-100 temperature sensor is connected and installed properly. The Vacuum on Demand can use this signal to open an air inlet valve at the level set in parameter 3202 RELAY OPEN TEMP and increase the pump speed to reduce the temperature. The drive will close the valve when it has gone below the value in parameter 3203 RELAY CLOSE TEMP. Also if the temperature continues to rise and goes above the value in parameter 3504 PUMP FAULT LIMIT the drive will stop and the fault PUMP OVERTEMP will be displayed.
The motor temperature is sensed from a motor klixon. The motor klixon is normally closed, so the drive will stop and MOTOR OVERTEMP will be displayed when the klixon opens. The klixon is wired to 24V (#10) and digital input DI-4 (#16) at the drive.
Variable frequency drives can create electrical interference on the dairy farm. This electronic noise can disrupt cow ID signals, computer communications, printed circuit boards and other electric devices. To reduce this interference, Westfalia-Surge recommends that the installers use a special variable frequency cable available from Westfalia-Surge. The distance from the VOD drive unit to the vacuum pump motor should always be less than 15 Ft. [4.6 meters].
Tube guide arms or automatic stripping units make it easier to position the cluster, follow the movements of the cow and ensure milking success.
