Source text - French Forage à vis et échantillonnage
Le forage à vis a été effectué à l’aide de foreuses de marque russe, montées sur châssis de camions tout-terrain (6 x 6) de marque ZIL-131. La franchissabilité élevée de ces machines a permis de réaliser avec succès les volumes définis de travaux malgré le caractère accidenté du terrain. Le forage a été exécuté à l’aide de taillant à lame en carbure de tungstène de 142 mm de diamètre, avec une longueur de s vis de forage de 135 mm, ce qui permet une remontée assez complète du matériau de forage.
Le forage a été effectué sur toute l’épaisseur de l’horizon bauxitique avec une pénétration de 2-3 m dans les latérites sous-jacentes. En l’absence de bauxites (cela était déterminé visuellement par le géologue guinéen) le sondage était foré jusqu’à la profondeur de 6.0 m.
Sur les roches sèches, l’échantillon était extrait par rotation après chaque mètre de forage et sur les roches humides collantes, en remontant le train de tiges après chaque mètre de forage.

Forage carottant, documentation et échantillonnage de la carotte
Le forage carottant a été effectué sur des lignes tracées ou des points isolés, déterminés au cours du levé cartographique et des observations géologiques. Les sondages carottants ont été réalisés à proximité des sondages à vis (à une distance de 0.5-1 m), permettant ainsi d’effectuer concomitamment l’étude géologique de la séquence et le contrôle de la qualité du forage à vis.
Le forage a été effectué à l’aide de la foreuse de marque russe PBU-2, monté sur châssis de camion tout-terrain (6x6) de marque ZIL-131. Ont été utilisées des couronnes en diamant de diamètre PQ, de la firme BOART LONGYEAR.SA avec un triple tube carottant et un port -carotte. Généralement la longueur de l’intervalle était de 1.5-3.0 m, souvent pour une augmentation de la récupération de la carotte, les intervalles de forage ont été raccourcis (0.5-1.0). La carotte était placée dans des caisses, inspectée et documentée de manière préliminaire par le géologue.
La carotte était coupée en deux, documentée en détails et photographiée à la base de ХХХ à ХХХ. Ensuite un échantillon était prélevé à partir d’une moitié de la carotte, l’autre moitié était conservée. L’échantillonnage de la carotte était effectué essentiellement par intervalles d’un mètre, en cas de changement brusque des roches, l’intervalle d’un mètre était diminué en fonction de la lithologie.

Шнековое бурение скважин осуществлялось буровыми станками Российского производства, смонтированными на грузовых вездеходах ЗИЛ –131 (6х6). Высокая проходимость этих машин обеспечила успешное выполнение объемов работ, несмотря на пересеченную местность. Использовались твердосплавные долота диаметром 142 мм, при диаметре шнеков 135 мм, что обеспечивает хороший подъем материала.
Бурение скважин проводилось на полное пересечение бокситового горизонта до подсечения глинистого интервала с заходом на 1 метр в глины или с заходом не менее чем на 2-3 метра в подстилающие латериты. При отсутсвии боксита (определялось визуально гвинейским геологом) скважину бурили до глубины 6.0 м.
По сухим породам бурение велось с выкручиванием материала после каждого метра проходки, по влажным налипающим породам - с подъемом снаряда после каждого метра проходки.

Бурение колонковых скважин, документация и опробование керна.
Колонковое бурение проводилось по отдельным профилям и точкам, намеченным в процессе картирования и геологических наблюдений. Колонковые скважины бурились около шнековых (на расстоянии 0.5-1м), выполняя, помимо геологического изучения разреза, также и контрольные функции качества бурения шнековых скважин.
Бурение осуществлялось станком российского производства ПБУ-2, установленном на грузовике-вездеходе (6х6) марки ЗИЛ-131. Использовались алмазные коронки диаметром PQ фирмы Boart Longuear,S.A., и тройной колонковый снаряд с керноприемником. Обычно длина рейса составляла 1.5-3.0м, иногда для увеличения выхода керна применялись укороченные интервалы проходки (0.5-1.0м). Керн укладывался в ящики, просматривался и предварительно документировался геологом.
На базе ХХХ. в г.ХХХ керн распиливался на две части, детально документировался и фотографировался. Из одной половины керна отбиралась проба, вторая половина оставлялась на хранение. Опробование керна осуществлялось преимущественно метровыми интервалами, в случае резкой смены пород метровый интервал дополнительно разбивался в соответствии с литологией.

This passed rapidly down into weathered phyllite and gneissic basement material. The supergene weathering profile suggested in-situ enrichment by dry and wet season water table levels, not pre-enriched material from the top of the ridge. Without significant deposition of ridge-top BIF and only in-situ enrichment, it is suggested that the canga deposits do not currently represent a consistent priority resource target.
Translation - Russian Пересмотренная скважина в канге (кирасе), показала около 10 м локально массивных сцементированных гетитов(-гематитов) в устье скважины. Ниже, они быстро переходят в эродированные филлиты и гнейсовые породы цоколя. Супергенный эрозийный профиль определил обогащение коренных пород грунтовыми водами уровня сухого и дождливого сезона, не обогащенный материал в верхней части хребта. Не имея значительных отложений BIF верхней части хребта, но только обогащение коренных пород, можно сказать, что отложения канги в настоящее время не являются приоритетными целями.
