I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in “International Communication and Translation” at the University of Hildesheim/Germany in 2007. I then enrolled in the Master of Arts program “Translatology” at the University of Leipzig/Germany and, as a joint degree program, also in the international program “European Masters in Specialised Translation” (METS) in Brussels/Belgium and Paris/France. I received both master’s degrees in 2009.
I have over 6 years experience in the language industry. I gained first practical experience as a translator through a three-month internship at the Office de Promotion du Tourisme Wallonie-Bruxelles (OPT) in Brussels/Belgium, a seven-week internship at the Délégation Wallonie-Bruxelles in Berlin/Germany, and my work as a licencing assistant and translator for a pharmaceutical company in Germany. For the past 5+ years, I worked as a project manager for a translation agency specializing in rush translations in the legal field, thus gaining valuable insights into the language industry from a different perspective.
My studies and personal interests have led me to focus mainly on IT, technology, tourism, marketing/media, and business/economics, however, I learn quickly and am willing to familiarize myself with other areas as necessary.
I have experience working with a number of CAT tools (XTM, Trados, MultiTrans, Across) and currently work with Wordfast Anywhere. |
