Forum: Chinese
Topic: 简单音译全部中国文化事物名称
Poster: hj58
Post title:

My biggest daily frustration is timing: I run a rough auto-transcript first to get the text down, but I still have to manually nudge every in and out time and fix the line breaks, because no tool I have used splits dialogue cleanly at natural pauses. If your app could nail automatic timing plus sensible two-line breaks, that alone would save me the most tedious hour of every project.
With an increasing number of AI driven bots trying to disrupt sites and hack accounts, using at least MFA has become mandatory in the modern web.
I agree that using methods like authenticators is cumbersome, but there are easier ones, like pairing your credentials (user name/email + password) with a code sent to your phone. That's a very small toll for a more secure environment - see the recent breach with hacked ProZ accounts!
Multifactor Authentication is not much of a deterrent for scammers. It's like needing two keys for the same door. IOW it means that instead of ONE piece of tech you become dependent on TWO. So if your phone battery phone gets drained or the phone lost or stolen, or 'the other email' gets hijacked or messed up by the email provider [that does happen] then you to get cut off from your own account - no need for any hacker to be involved.

OTOH a better verification / plausibility check at the time of creating a new account would help get rid at least of the lazy scammers - send them looking for easier targets. ***As of now no more effort is needed to create a new user account than dreaming up a username!*** That a completely blank profile is acceptable is for me a far larger 'hole in the fence' than the absence of compulsory MFA.

I got the same message about 6 months ago, about some 'Frank' with a completely empty profile claiming to be an ex-client of mine. For what nefarious purposes would anyone create a 'non-profile' on Proz so that they can claim to be my ex-client is anyone's guess. But it looks to me like being done on purpose, not a like a bug.

I contacted Proz support and all that happened was that this empty profile whose sole activity was to make a false claim was 'forbidden from contacting me' - and allowed to remain! Someone in the meantime must have been doing a bit of housekeeping as now this fake empty 'ex-client Frank' profile is finally gone.

Preview against the video and clean handling of italic and position tags matter as well. Happy to test a build if you share one.

But they don't worry about it.

Here's an extract of his testimony:

"I'll share an anecdote from talking to someone at Anthropic a few months ago."

"A year from now, two years from now, it's Anthropic's plan to essentially put Claude in charge of the entire research process within Anthropic, including the safety aspects of the research process."

"I asked this person: 'If and when that happens, what is the probability that Claudes will be plotting against Anthropic and against humanity at that point?'"

"This person said: 'It's more like 5%. Not worth worrying about. I'm in fact going to transfer away from the alignment team because 5% is not that big of a deal.'"

"I came away from this conversation being like, 'oh my gosh!'"

"This person's job is to prevent this sort of thing from happening, and they think the risk is a 1 in 20 chance of it happening in the very near future in a way that would be catastrophic. And they think a 1 in 20 chance is low enough that they shouldn't really worry about it."

Here's the session video:
@ai_ctrl/video/Del1-ujlHIo/video-ex-open-ai-researcher-daniel-kokotajlo-tells-m-ps-he-spoke-to-a-researcher-at/
