It was really an unforgettable experience for me. Everything was just perfect. The place was nice, the attendees were even nicer. I felt that everyone was speaking from his\her heart. I can't describe my feeling when I got home after the event, I was full of enthusiasm and excitement. I was happy. Thank you guys for this wonderful night. Wish you all success.

It's only few days left. Based on other posts (and since there are no more responses) the best solution is to continue with our meeting & to make it a bit later, so it's going to be on saturday 13th of jan, city stars, Costa Coffee (cinema floor) at 3 pm. I think this will give room to interested members in attending WATA's meeting to come.

Regarding the final situation, I am still waiting for other votes but actually if we do not receive sufficient responses I think we will continue with Proz meeting in city stars but make it at 3 or 4 pm to give time to other colleagues to attend Wata's meeting. I hope our colleagues respond rapidly, I think many of them are still on vacation...

Thanks Randa for your reply. In fact Hatem is reakky eager to attend especially that he will stay only 48 hours in Cairo. I hope everyone can tell us whether he or she will attend WATA's meeting or not so that we can arrange our meeting. I am sorry to repeat the same again but it's less than a week left. Till now the votes are toward saturday 13th, at 3 or 4 pm. Does any one whish to meet at WATA's place? or we keep our place in city stars?

Dear Noha and everybody willing to attend this powwow,

I can sense that Hatem is really eager to attend our meeting and I feel that we cannot turn down a request from such an avid member.

Let's postpone the meeting until 3:00 or 4:00.

I can also bring my 6 year old son to the function if everybody agrees to having kids in the meeting.

Do you agree to this solution?

Thanks Noha for your efforts. And sorry Hatem your suggestion is not work, because one hour does not enough to reach Nasr City. Also, I do not think that the meeting will finish at 2pm.
I suggest another thing, what about Friday 12/1 after pray. I think it will be good for all.

Thank you Noha. I am really glad and hope it will work that way for everybody. It means that interrested colleagues (and I) can attend the WATA gathering between 11 and 2 PM, then then PROZ gathering in Nasr City from say 3 PM. Just great.
Cannot ask for better planning. You Proz-people are really Pros. :)

I am sorry for too many posts :( I called Mr. Abou Bakr, the responsible for WATA's meeting & he told me that their meeting will atart at 11 am or 12 pm & will last for 2 hours or so. I think this won;t be a problem, we can postpone our meeting for a couple of hours, in that way ther won't be any overlapping.
What about 3 pm, same day & same place? Please consider this so that our colleagues who will be in Cairo for a short while can attend too.

It would be nice to bring your son Hatem, he is welcome of course but may be other kids are not yet trained (mine is 2.5 years old).
I am not sure if 2 meetings on the same day will be a good idea especially they will be held in different places that are quite far from each other (garden city & nasr city) and also we never know when will WATA's meeting end. What about friday 12? Hatem you said you'll arrive on 9, right? I know friday is usually reserved for the family but we can make a short reunion 1 or 2 hours after the prayer (same place). Waiting to hear you opinion about any of these suggestions. I hope the chosen day will suit all, including you Hatem of course. Wish you a nice & safe trip.

My stay in Cairo will be only for the meeting/s. Otherwise I will spend most of my time in Alex, Aswan and Sharm. I am indeed aware of the difficulties in reorganising, but a few hours later may be is all that is needed. If mums are worried about picking up their kids, I would gladly take my 6 years old son with me to the meeting. He is already trained for that. :)
Unfortunately I cannot be in Cairo for more than max 2 days (13 and 14 January). If I am lucky it will work.

Thanks a lot Hatem for your response but changing the date &/or timing doesn't depend on me alone, that's why we'll need to discuss it again because I don't know everyone's schedule. However, I have another suggestion to solve this problem, what about postoning our meeting to saturday 20th of jan, same time & same place? In that way, colleagues who are interested in attending WATA's meeting will be able to go without rush. I hope to get a reply from all the members interested in attending this meeting. I am really sorry for this inconvenience but I hope we can make it :)

Thank you for a swift and very nice reply.
I am aware of your great input and a remarkable flexibility from the outset to make it easy for every colleague to attend. I am also aware that news about the WATA gathering suddenly popped up. So, the competition is not there from the beginning, for sure. But now it is here as a matter of fact: the timing says either/or!
What I suggest is that we make our meeting a little later or next day/Sunday. May be I should make it clear that I am not a member of WATA, but why not meet and get to know our colleagues there? And try to get some understanding of their philosophy that is still evading me?!
By the way, I have no information about how long time the WATA meeting would last. I understand it is supposed to start in the morning.

It's not a matter of competition by any means Hatem. This meeting was organized & we were unaware of the other meeting. I really hope that you all can tell me what do you prefer, if you prefer to attend WATA's meeting, then no problem at all, we can postpone ours for a later date that suits all of us. If no one is going to attend WATA's meeting then why change ours after all these preparations? Please reply ASAP so we can fix the final date either next saturday or another day.

I am glad that it now seems I will really be able to attend. I will arrive to Egypt 9 January (i s A) so the chances are very good. What worries me is that odd competition between the two gatherings. After all I guess some if not most of us would like to use this rare opportunity to meet as many colleagues as possible. Would it not be a beautiful gesture to try to accomodate "the other"? Can I place this suggestion before the organizers? Could we change the hour or the day as to make it possible to attend both meetings within the same 24 hours? That would be superb and most rewarding in the long run, I am sure. And what a way to start a promising year!
