I am having problems with this bit: 'Make sure that all your translated segments are committed to the TM by pressing Alt+End; now all the segments should appear in Violet (colour)'
When I do this, the colours remain the same, i.e. orange for MT, or yellow for fuzzy match or green/dark orange for 100%
Therefore when I try to create a tmx file, these sections aren't exported. I have to go through it manually line by line pressing enter, backspace and alt/down, which can take ages if it is a large file.
Luckily very few clients require this, but it is very annoying when it is needed.
Unless there is a serious design fault, I must be doing something wrong - what is it?

Write unedited fuzzy and exact matches to the TM
Apr 10, 2012
Dear Gerry,
To make sure every segment goes to the TM without editing (even fuzzy and exact matches and the unedited MTed), go to Edit > Preferences > Translation Memory > check "Write unedited fuzzy and exact matches to the TM". Now, Alt+Down and Alt+End will store everything to the TM.
HTH,
Yasmin

Perfect! I knew it would be something easy.
I'm afraid I will have a few more seemingly obvious and simple queries - I am just getting around to addressing them after these years! You have helped me a great deal in the past, Yasmin - I apologise if it is all elementary stuff.

Returning to this problem
Jan 31, 2013
After months of success using the above procedure, I am having problems with my current job.
There are 1374 lines, yet when I try to export a tmx file there are only about 320. I have the above box ticked and I have saved all the segments to the current TM.
Also the client wants me to send a 'TTX' file as well, which is a first for me. Any ideas?
Thanks!
