In this article I will try to highlight some fundamental convergence points between the practice of translation and the practice of philosophy. More specifically, I will argue that philosophy can prove an effective translation tool, which fellow translators can exploit to fine-tune their skills.
The following investigation is an attempt to list the major crafts that the translator should have to dive into the world of translating texts. The article concentrated on the most common skills that are indispensable to any translator or linguist, especially the novice ones and students whose major is translation. Macro skills are those which are related directly to the industry such as analytical and research skills with shedding the light on micro-skills such as using computers and editing software. The major concern of the article is to give a short account of reading comprehension, analytical, researching, writing, and Computing skills.
