Bio

I am a native Irish speaker, having been raised through the medium of Irish. I attended an Irish-medium primary school. Having completed a degree in joint English and Irish, and a subsequent PGCE, I taught Irish in a grammar school for 14 years before transferring to the only IME secondary school in Belfast, where I joined the Senior Management Team and established the school’s first Irish-medium Learning Support Centre. I was appointed Vice Principal in charge of pastoral care in April 20202. I have extensive experience of and high proficiency in translating, editing, copywriting and proofreading, going back to 1990. I have an excellent command of grammar, syntax, and am sensitive to the ever-evolving nature of new terminology and standardization.
