ProZ.com Giving Tuesday 2024

ProZ.com is uniting language professionals, speakers, mentors, and coaches to support a global movement for education. This year, we aim to raise funds for two organizations that provide education to children who lack access to it. According to UNESCO, 250 million children do not have access to school, a number that has increased by 6 million since 2021. Many are refugees, having fled conflict and endured trauma, leaving their futures in jeopardy.

This event supports two NGOs—Born to Learn and Children of Rwanda—working in education, healthcare, community development, and more. We encourage everyone to join us by donating, participating in online activities, and spreading the word. Together, we can make a difference for children seeking a brighter future through education.

About Born to Learn. Born to Learn (BTL) is an association founded with the aim of developing and empowering vulnerable communities in Tanzania. The NGO was founded on the belief that education is a basic human, no matter where and into which circumstances they are born. Their focus lies on educational inclusion for all children in need, so that they have access to quality education that responds to the unique needs of the communities they operate in.

About Children of Rwanda. In western Rwanda, thousands of children are unable to attend school as their families can't afford the cost of schooling. Children of Rwanda is a registered NGO that enables children to return to class and benefit from their universal right to an education in a sustainable way. They do so by working with the parents of these children to increase their household income enough to cover the costs of schooling and without having to rely on external help.
