Bio:Industrial Engineer with a passion for Translation since year 2002. My career as a Translator started with just a hobby part of mine, but suddenly became my one and only job nowadays.
Over 6 years as an Online Freelance Translator, I have found many places to share m...y knowledge, and then find Proz.com, which is one of the top freelance translators platform online with great added values, such as Kudoz and a forum to share thoughts.
As a Proz member, I would like to improve my knowledge, and in the meantime or soon be certified by you.
Hoping this 3-Days Virtual Conference event will be really helpful for me and other fellow translators as well.
Best Regards,
Carlos Díaz

Bio:By fortune I became bilingual as a child and later on I began doing translations for friends and acquaintances until I began getting some formal training on this. I went to college in the USA and obtained a B.Sc. degree in Bioengineering and that gave a a very good back...ground in almost every technical discipline. I have worked as a simultaneous interpreter and have done a lot with technical translations, particularly in medicine, IT and engineering in general.

Bio:I was born in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. Early on, I started showing interest in languages and cultures; such interest made me study English for three years, and I still keep learning it every single day. After finishing school, in a search for advice, I started meeting u...p with the best professional translator from my region who encouraged me to follow my passion step by step. With enough confidence, I took the first step by volunteering on Twitter as a Community Translator for a year. Then, I got my first Freelance job at Unbabel.com.
Being a student of electrical engineering has made me able to perform translations in the STEM areas.
I've always considered myself as very ambitious and dedicated. I love reading, writing and helping people as far as I can. Today, I continue to build experience and develop potential knowledge in the field.
