- Il ritaglio dell'immagine o crop, come i termini stessi suggeriscono, permette di "ritagliare" la parte che desideriamo dall'immagine originale. Il ritaglio dell'immagine o crop, è effettuato tipicamente per:
- ricomporre un'immagine;
- ricavarne una di formato diverso (ad es. da 4/3 a 2/3)
- dare rilevanza ad un soggetto o ai soggetti che nell'originale non ne hanno abbastanza (ad esempio poiché troppo distanti, come capita proprio nella fotografia naturalistica)
