- Mizellen (von lat. mica = Klümpchen, kleiner Bissen), auch Assoziationskolloide genannt, sind Aggregate (Assoziate) aus amphiphilen Molekülen bzw. grenzflächenaktiven Substanzen, die sich in einem Dispersionsmedium (meist Wasser) spontan zusammenlagern. - Een micel is een microscopisch kleine structuur van een aantal moleculen van een oppervlakte-actieve stof in water. De moleculen zullen zich bij een concentratie hoger dan de kritische micelconcentratie (CMC, critical micelle concentration) zodanig rangschikken, dat de hydrofobe 'staarten' bij elkaar zullen gaan zitten en de hydrofiele koppen zo veel mogelijk door watermoleculen omringd zijn.
