Cette étude a servi à évaluer la survie parmi un échantillon d'hommes âgés représentatif de l'ensemble du Canada, en tenant compte de facteurs de comorbidité courants. Un suivi de la mortalité a été effectué pour la période de 1978 à 1989 auprès des participants de sexe masculin à l'Enquête Santé Canada qui étaient âgés en 1978 d'au moins 60 ans.
