- În primul rănd se cuvine să lămuresc ce inţeleg economiştii prin "stagflaţie". Găndirea macroeconomică convenţională consideră că, pe termen scurt, ar exista un compromis (trade-off) intre gradul de utilizare a resurselor şi inflaţie; cu căt utilizarea resurselor ar fi mai aproape de capacitatea maximă, cu atăt ritmul inflaţiei ar fi mai inalt.
