- Activité professionnelle qui s'exerce en dehors des bureaux de l'employeur, le plus souvent à domicile, et pour laquelle on fait appel aux nouvelles technologies de l'information et de la communication pour communiquer à distance.
Note(s) : Le télétravail consiste à ne plus être présent en permanence dans son entreprise ou son organisme, à exercer son activité (entièrement ou en partie) ailleurs (à la maison, chez un client, dans sa voiture, etc.), en se servant d'outils informatiques et de télécommunication. La technologie permet, par exemple, aux travailleurs de rester à la maison tout en étant relié au bureau par téléphone, ordinateur, modem, télécopieur ou courrier électronique.
On écrit généralement en un seul mot les composés dont télé- constitue le premier élément.
