Dear fellow translators,
I am a certified freelance translator for En & FR languages and I would like to start working with foreign agencies.
I have an experience of 4 years in translation and my area of expertise is the technical/engineering field.
I searched the net and subscribed to some of the agencies which were looking for a freelancer...some answered, some not.
I have been trying to get a job for 3 months now, and I didn't find anything...

Some suggestions

Hello Alinaman, and welcome to Proz!
It sounds like you are actually off to a very good start.
Some quick suggestions for you:
- Search past postings in the Proz "getting started" forum... you will find a wealth of good advice there.
- Focus on your area of specialization and nothing but... you will eventually land jobs, as demand for technical and engineering specialists is actually quite high.

- Translate only into your native tongue... you will gain more credibility from potential employers.
- Keep at it for a few more months... it takes time and patience to get a new freelance business going.
Evidence points toward continued growth in our industry. Keep the faith and stay focused, and you will be surprised at the possibilities. With four years of experience, credentials and a targeted area of specialization, you are actually a lot further along than it might seem right now.

Dear Todd and Monica,
Thank you for your encouragements.
I have the experience, but I do not have the credentials, ...yet.
By the way, which type of credentials do you think I need? Translation agencies...or?
Regards,
Alina

I meant that you are certified by a recognized translation association, as you said in your initial posting.
This is a great way to advance your career in general and will eventually open some doors for you.
Todd
