Hello Proz community!
I was reading about errors and omissions insurance for interpreters recently, and I wanted to ask you all about your opinions regarding this.
Do you have any suggestions for other kinds of insurance that are necessary in our industry (especially for freelancers)? Are there any other factors to keep in mind in this sense?
Thank you all!

In Portugal, professional liability insurance covers errors and omissions in professional practice, and it is compulsory for self-employed workers to have insurance against accidents at work. I don't know how things work in Spain.

If you're a subcontractor, end clients are much more likely to sue the agency than they are likely to sue you directly. If you have business clients and might also need to vouch for other people's work, insurance makes more sense.

If an agency gets sued, what makes you think the agency isn't going to sue you to recover their money?

Are there any other considerations to keep in mind for insurance when working in the medical/mental health sphere for translators and interpreters?
Any other tips you would like to share in this case?
Thank you everyone!

I'm not 100% sure, but IMO once the agency has accepted your work and paid you, they are the only liable party, as it is their duty to check that your work is done well (four eye principle).
