Do Chinese Search Engines read unicode?

When translating an English Website into Chinese, does the search engines read Unicode??? This is for main land China

please use
www.baidu.com ( the biggest chinese search engine in mainland china) to do the test.

You just search "UNICODE" , and you would find many sites in UNICODE.
