There are two aspects in which I have recent experience: the car and the Cámara de Comercio's fees, which we as translators should not be paying, but everybody pays.
This quarter I am in the process of assigning 50% of my car's cost and expenses to the activity (50% is the generally accepted percentage).
As for the Cámara de Comercio, this is a long-term fight and mine is still not over... after one year and a half waiting for the Cámara to take action and return my ... Answering myself: Following the success of the proposal, I guess Spanish translators own too much money or are afraid to share their secrets ... Why are we always so reluctant to collaborate on common tasks of public interest? Or there is no interest at all to safeguars our money...?

 Maybe Spanish translators don't have/make enough money to have a need for this, or have too little time to collaborate due to low rates and therefore working overtime? No, I do not want to start a discussion on low rates, just wanted to give you some possible reasons for the lack of interest ...
Your proposal sounds interesting to me, and I would like to participate, too. For what it's worth, I could help with my personal experience of maintaining a S.L. in Spain (being a sole trader, not an agency).
Just let me know if you get something started ...

A good way of collecting valuable information as a community on this issue, and to keep it in time, would be to post your contributions in the wiki page Tax issues for freelancers.

Hi all,
I would first apologize for the delay in replying. I'm quite busy emptying the my mothers flat. As a first step, given Henriques polite invitation to leave this thread and that I believe it is not appropriate to discuss this issue in a wiki, but only to publish the conclusions we may reach, if we would like to do so. I invite you to add yourself to my profile on facebook: http:/ / www.facebook.com/ #! / pablo.bouvier, but I woud like to hear if you have a better solution than this one before.
As first step, I would take a copy of Mrs. Eklunds article and consult with our local delegations of the Finance Ministere due to the tax differences between the different Comunidades Autónomas. I will do this next Friday (tomorrow) in Barcelona and on next Monday or Tuesday I will resume the conclusions. Another step we may do, is to collect the information we already have and to put it together in a commmon space like netbox or any other alike. I'll be pleased to hear your comments.

Then, Enrique, please forgive me. I may have misunderstood the meaning of the sentence: a common complain read in these forums is that the same issues are discussed over and over. It is true that some topics recur over and over again, but as a coacher would say: If you have it in mind, you haven't it solved. On the other hand, I do not mind sharing knowledge. But, I do not think a wiki is appropriate to discuss a not yet clarified issue.

Again, the issue could be discussed here and have the conclusions posted in the wiki, or the issue could be assembled in a collaborative way in the wiki page itself.
The availability of a knowledge repository in wiki format could solve the problem of issues that are recurrently discussed in forums.
