I was working for Mercedes-Benz Financial and Southeast Toyota Financial. Toyota was much kinder to me than Mercedes was, I even had my own little office to work in, though the pay rate was far below what I'm making now. 2/3rds of my office has been laid off during the past year though. Since I was the first to go and the first to establish myself as a freelance translator, others have come to me asking for help. I'm trying very hard to help them avoid the same mistakes that I made.
