Hi
I would like to know how I can use 2 different alignments on the same line. I have a list of text on the right side and then figures on the left side. Impossible to align them properly using tabs (sometimes the figure is over 1.000, sometimes over 10.000 or even 100.000. I therefore have to add a space somteimes, but a space doesn't align the column properly. I tried to change alignment but that moves the whol line either to the right or the left...

Actually the best method is with tabs. Simply show the ruler, click on the right extreme position (where the right-most character of the figures should be), and then double click the tab marker and choose a alignment to the right, instead of the default alignment to the left. You can also choose the characters you want to see between the end of the text and the beginning of the figure (spaces, dots...).

Added: So you need the figures on the left handside. OK. Just click in the ruler in the position of the rightmost character of the biggest figure, so that a tab is created there. Then you assign aligmnent on the right to that, and when you have to enter a new line you press Tab so that Word takes you to the position of the tab. When you type the figure, it should flow to the left, not to the right as normal text.

I would do this in a table with 3 columns and however many rows you need. In the left column (with numbers) choose 'right align'; the middle column stays empty to create a space; in the right column (with text) choose 'left align'. You can move the vertical gridlines as needed to get the look you want. When finished, you can remove the gridlines.
