Buenas. No soy muy asiduo a estos foros y espero no haberme confundido de sitio al hacer esta pregunta. El caso es que me han mandado una traducción de un manual de funcionamiento de una "Sizing Machine". En principio creía que sería fácil localizar la terminología en internet, pero está resultando muy complicado. No tengo claro qué es y para qué sirve una "Sizing Machine". It seems as if your machine may be for SORTING (vegetables?) according to their SIZE — many markets require them to be 'graded' into certain size bands, either by dimensions or weight.

That was my idea at first too, but now I have realized that it is not about "yams", but "yarns". Still I don´t know much about the machine it´s referring to.

Sizing is also used to mean a type of coating. When you size yarn you coat it which makes it smoother and stronger. This is good for the threads when you are weaving, particularly the threads that run along the cloth. In weaving terms, these are referred to as the warp threads and they are subject to a lot of stress and friction in a weaving machine which is why it is a good idea to make them stronger and smoother.

Also, IATE says "plegadora" for warp beam in the Textile industry, and defines it as: beam from which the warp yarns are unrolled during weaving. For beam: plegador

Claramente, deberías buscar glosarios y diccionarios del sector textil.
Aunque es un consejo no solicitado y quizá no bienvenido, pienso que siempre conviene mirar el material y comprobar que uno está familiarizado con el campo antes de aceptar un trabajo. En este momento, al traducir un material que desconoces y que --al menos de momento-- no comprendes, estás en grave riesgo de meter la pata y de que el cliente te descarte para cualquier trabajo futuro.
